The authors of this blog come from a variety of churches and roles in the synod. Learn a little more about who some of us are:

Julie Hagen is the Director of Children, Youth, and Family Ministries at Advent Lutheran Church. Advent is located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan and has opportunities for young people of all ages to develop a deeper relationship with Jesus through Bible stories, prayer, music, fellowship, and service. Julie holds a Masters in Children, Youth, and Family Ministry from Luther Seminary in St. Paul, MN and is a rostered Associate-in-Ministry in the ELCA. Email Julie here.

Abby Triebel is the Youth Leader at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Poughkeepsie, NY. She started there in January of 2007 after working with children for many years. In 2008, she completed the Youth Ministry Certification program at Gettysburg Lutheran Seminary. At St. John’s she handles confirmation, middle school youth group, high school youth group, several children’s events, and many other special events throughout the church year. She has a special interests in international ministry opportunities, and a huge heart for the people of Haiti. Email Abby here.
